Why Can't There Be an In Between?

There are two sides to the political spectrum, the conservative and the liberal. The reactionaries and the radicals. The right wing and the left wing. In our country we do not go "extreme" on either end. We are not fascists or communists, but we do have both sides to our own extremes, republicans and democrats.

The far right would be fascists, the far left, communists. The left is democrat and the right is republican.

Now, let me pose you with a question: We are often faced with the choice of republican or democratic,   but what happens when you are in the middle?

Often times one is asked that question, whether they are republican or democratic. Most people have their own set of views and morals, some of which may fall under the democrats' priority set, and some the republicans'. But when faced with the choice, they pick one. Let's say I agree with the democrats on 3 topics and the republicans on 2. I would say I am democratic. But if one of the topics that I agree with the republicans on has significance to me in specific, I will say I am republican. But why should I have to choose when I don't completely agree with them? This may seem like a small issue when it comes to ordinary everyday people, but it's larger than it seems.

Take this scenario:
The republicans have an idea on how to solve issue A that is accepted by the majority of people and the democrats have a way to solve issue B, but the people have to choose whether to vote democratic or republican. Now they have to decide which issue is more important to solve, risking the other issue worsening.

Along with this conundrum, we have politicians who face the same fate as we do. They are forced to choose democratic or republican if they want to be considered for office. In their cases, when they choose one or the other they feel the need to accept all the policies, whether they agree with them or not. They go against their own morals and their own beliefs to conform with the party they choose. They do not only lie to themselves, but they lie to all of us. Why is it that the only people we consider for office are those who fit into these "parties"? Every democrat is not the same, but the will all be pressured to follow every "democratic" view. Same as the republicans. Do we really want people like this? Shouldn't they do what's best for the country instead of whats best for their "party"?

The two party system has forced out country into a lie. Forcing so many people to choose a party that they don't fully support, just because they are told they should choose. Odds are, in this country of well over 315 million people, there are not only 2 sets of view points.

  1. Why cant there be middle ground. As we sail through the 21st century it appears that our earth needs us the most. I would vote Green all the way. NO war. No unesessary prison terms for no violent offenders. Lets put people to work building renewable resoursces. Hydrogen fuel cars, The Tesla car, wind, solar, hydroelectric to a lesser degree, geo thermal, tidal, and put more money into fusion because that is unlimitied in theory. We need to farm hemp in a large way. It reduces the use for trees, it reduces the use of pesticiteds and other poisons. I wont go into that. Lets be green to each other. We are living breathing energy and we need to figure this out or splat. We need to focus on Japans clean up. Why isn't every country pledging help? I don't like that. I could go on I am preoccupied.

    1. Democrats and Republicans are puppets to there corporate sponsers. These meat heads know whats right. We need to get rid of this two party circus. Obama is laying down executive orders left and right. Our rights are being stripped, our police militarized. Our population so brainwashed that they will follow the leader forever. Well our living breathing eco systems far out way economics or a staged war in the middle east. 6 trillion dollars mind you. The worlds problems could have been fixed 5 times over with that. There is a power plutocracy going on. The middle and lower classes are paying for it with there taxes. While churches, the NFL get off tax free. While the rich get away with paying less than us. Its broken. They have been preparing for something big at FEMA and Homeland security. Fukushima perhaps. Yellowstone erupting perhaps. I don't know but we need to have each others backs.
